    * As of Q3 2009 there have been 41 million smartphones sold globally (Mediapost)

    * More than half (52%) of mobile subscribers use text messaging regularly

    * Texting gets seven times the response rate than email does (7% vs 1%) (smallbiztrends.com)

    * The majority of individuals have their mobile phone on them for up to 18 hours per day.

    * Number of mobile apps downloaded in 2009: 2.5 million
